Nursery Provision

We welcome up to 8 full time nursery children in our nursery class. As well as integrating in our EYFS classroom with Reception children, we have a dedicated classroom where children access some of their learning with a key adult. Our nursery children flourish as part of our school family, integrating with school lunchtime and special events.

We operate Continuous Provision with high-quality resources for the age and stage of each year groups development, both in indoor and outdoor provision.  This supports the development of the Characteristics of Effective Learning: Playing and Exploring, Active Learning and Creating and Thinking Critically.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) has seven areas of learning to support children’s development:

  • Personal and Social Education
  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Literacy
  • Maths
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Nursery children take part in 'Welly Wednesday' - an afternoon of learning in our Forest School. Extra curricular experiences include visits from the Animal Man, visiting the Chinese restaurant during Chinese New Year as well as a visit to the farm in the summer.

The school is open 8.45 to 3.15pm. Should you wish to access 6 hour blocks each day using the free hours, this can be taken from 8.45 - 2.45. Children will need to be collected at 2.45.

You can provide your child with a packed lunch. Should you wish the school to provide lunch this will be an additional cost of £2.95 per day.

Do I have to use my free hours in blocks?

Yes. The nursery provides blocks of time which we provide staff for. If you have 15 hours, then you can use these hours in any combination of blocks. For example 5 x 3 hours OR 2 x 6 hours and 1 x 3 hours.
