Nursery and Reception had a wonderful time at Welly Wednesday this week, working their way around their Superhero Obstacle Course! In the picture they are perfecting their Superman flying technique!
To start our new topic about Superheroes, all the children dressed up as their favourite superhero. We read ‘Supertato’ and made our own superhero vegetables.
We have been learning all about Bonfire Night this week! We have made firework pictures using pastels, in the shaving foam and glitter and made fireworks from construction materials.
In Maths, we have been learning about repeating patterns. We chose two or three different coloured bears and made a pattern that keeps repeating!

In Welly Wednesday, we had to find as many leaves as we could and decide on what we wanted to make – a leaf necklace, bracelet or crown. Then we had to hole punch holes in the leaves and with an adult’s help, thread the leaves onto the string. We really enjoyed it!
We were visited by Road Safety Kate this week who taught us the importance of crossing the road safely. She taught us to put on our thinking hat, our listening ears, our looking eyes, to stop at the kerb and to always hold our adult’s hand when crossing the road.
Our icon was the Queen so we learned all about her life, including where she lived and how old she is! We also made our own crowns so we could also be royalty!
We have been comparing the length of different pine cones to see which is the longest and shortest.
